About

A passport is a
terrible notebook.

So I started keeping a better one. This is it.

Hello. I'm the one writing. I travel a few weeks a year — not full-time, not professionally, just persistently — and I got tired of coming home with a camera roll and no memory of what any of it felt like.

Passport & Pages is the fix. Every trip gets a stamp on the wall and a real entry here: what the place was actually like on an ordinary Tuesday, including the parts that went badly. Especially those.

I write late, usually a week or two after getting back, once the trip has settled into something with a shape. That's on purpose.

What you won't find here

No sponsored stays

Nobody has comped me a hotel, and if that ever changes it will say so at the top of the page in large letters.

No listicles

There is no "12 hidden gems". There are places I went and what happened there, which is a different genre entirely.

No perfect trips

The missed trains stay in. The bad meal stays in. A trip without a wrong turn isn't a story, it's an itinerary.
